There seems to be a recurring theme with teens nowadays, including myself. That theme is the interest in tattoos and piercings. I do not have a tattoo yet, but I plan to get one soon. I do, however, have some piercings. I have my single lobe piercings, my helix done on both ears, my Tragus on my right ear, and my belly button pierced. This makes a grand total of six piercings.
I got my lobes pierced at Claire's with a gun when I was about nine. It is not good to get cartilage pierced with a gun because it will shatter the cartilage in your ear potentially causing it to collapse. I also got my helix piercings done with a gun at Piercing Pagoda at my local mall when I was sixteen. The helix and love piercings are the only piercings I have gotten done with a gun. My belly button and Tragus were both done with a hollow point needle at a tattoo shop. They were my most painful piercings. Not because of the way they were pierced, but because of their location on my body. Both are pierced through thick skin/cartilage which causes more pain. My lobes were the least painful. I'd say they were a one or a two out of ten. The helix piercings come next at about a three. My belly button was about a four or five, and my Tragus was also a four or five (the Tragus was the same pain wise but it was a different kind of pain).
I have a list of all the piercings I want to get in the future... Daith, rook, triple lobe, mid-way helix, maybe tongue or tongue web... The list goes on! Yup I'm a piercings junkie now! If you have any suggestions on piercings I should get, or questions about piercings in general, leave a comment below and I will get back to you ASAP.
Later!
Ruthie
